You pays your money and you takes the piss

Well, I notice that the London News Review has discreetyly dropped the subscribers login from its front page. And I still have no new issues of the magazine, or any answers to my emails asking when this might happen. So now I want my money back.

Fact is, they encouraged us all to support them, a lot of us paid £20 for the privilege, and, if it wasn't for the bit of charity from the Friday Thing in giving us all a subscription when it split, I really wouldn't have got anything for my cash. Apart from the LNRe, which is free anyway.

So what's going on? Anyone know. Do they?

Hello presenttense,
Sean from the Books Diary at LNR here. Thought I'd stop in with a quick apology.

Sorry you haven't heard from anyone: I've yanked the chains of the others at the lnr - you should be hearing from either Charlie or Al pretty shortly, which should deal with the refund.

Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I can't see an email address on your page - if you write to me (books at lnreview co uk) I'll give as full an explanation of the LNR's situation as you'd like. Short version: we've being trying to get back into print and haven't, yet. It's a long slog to do this properly - much longer than foreseen by our naive & sunny optimism back in the day - and there are various messy details.

I'm sorry that it had to come to a public complaint, really. We've been remiss.

Alan LNR here. It's my fault. I'm the one who's supposed to check the emails to questions@lnr, subs@lnr etc etc. I'm really bad at it. I'll go into the morass of email tomorrow and find you. Sorry.
